Favorite Reads of the Week

Long before I became an author, I was a romance novel junkie.  I started with Harlequin Series such as Desire, Presents, and Blaze, and progressed to more mainstream authors, such as Lori Foster, Morgan Leigh, and Diana Palmer.

In 2009, I bought my first Kindle, and it revealed a world that up until that point, I had never dreamed possible.  Independent authors who self-publish their own works, who write exactly what they want to write, and develop wonderful characters.

While I still read traditionally published books, most of my library now consists of indie authors that have shaped my writing to what it has become.  I have included two books in the latest edition of my favorite reads, one traditionally published and one by an indie author.

Happy Reading!!

He Made Her Feel Beautiful

Awkward, insecure Grace Jenkins has had little experience with men. But that hasn’t stopped her from dreaming hard about Noah Harper. Gorgeous, strong and darkly sexy, Noah has a rough edge beneath his polish that promises no mercy in the bedroom. When Grace learns Noah’s engagement has ended in scandal, she shyly offers him her support and her friendship. But Noah’s looking for something extra . . .

Noah wants Grace–badly. He wants to possess those curves that go on forever, to savor her sweet innocence, to take her to the limits of white-hot desire . . . again and again. What he doesn’t want is anything more complicated than that, and he knows Grace is a woman who deserves better. Grace, however, knows exactly what she wants–the kind of ecstasy only Noah can give her. Brazenly, she accepts, and Noah promises to make all her secret fantasies come true . . .

My Review

This is a lovely book about Gracie and Noah whose love story is for the ages. Noah was engaged to a woman he thought his grandmother would approve of but the situation changes and he starts to get to know Gracie on an intimate level. A very fast read but you are so in love with all of the characters you just can’t put the book down. Highly Recommended!!

The Vampire’s Kiss (Other World Series Book 1) by Ramona Gray

Genre:  Paranormal Romance

Published Date:  October 9th, 2014

Blurb from Amazon

Abigail Winters leads a perfectly ordinary life until the night she’s transported to an alternate earth. Attacked by vampires, her life is saved by the gorgeous but dangerous vampire, Val. When Val is injured and needs her blood to heal, she repays her debt by allowing him to feed from her. But she is unprepared for the immediate desire she now feels for the sexy vampire.

Despite saving her life, Val has no interest in feeding from the chubby human. It will be weeks before her need for him wears off, if she doesn’t go mad first, and he has no wish to have her pining after him and begging him to feed from her again or worse – have sex with her. Gravely injured and with no other choice, he feeds from Abigail and is intoxicated by the sweet taste of her blood. Determined to claim her, his obsession with her grows as she fights her undeniable attraction to him.

When Abigail is taken from him, Val will do whatever it takes to find her.

My Review

It’s a perfect romance that has a hero and a heroine who are two very different people. Val, the vampire, is very judgmental when he first meets the heroine, Abby, but he quickly falls for her before she is snatched away from him. It was sweet and very hot! I would recommend this book!!
