Favorite Authors – Jessica Sims

I first discovered the author Jessica Sims and her paranormal world through an anthology, The Undead In My Bed, along with Katie MacAlister and Molly Harper.

While most authors have a specific formula for their paranormal works, Jessica Sims created her own world with her own rules and that helped influence me when I created my world of The Dark Assassins, my first foray into paranormal romance.

For example, her shifters range from panthers to bears and everything in-between, but despite their paranormal beings, Jessica Sims’s stories focus on the developing relationship between the hero and heroine.  What I also loved about her books were the unusual ways that the couples in her stories would meet.

The books are daring, erotic, and when you immerse yourself in her world, be prepared to not want to leave.

My Rating and Review

The first thing that I loved about this book is both Sara and Ramsey. Sara learns to stand up for herself and by the end, she becomes stronger and more self-assured and Ramsey is the supportive, caring hero that I liked from the first page to the last. This is a great story and I would recommend it to anyone!!!

Wanted:  Wild Thing

Ryder is hiding a dark secret from her coworkers at Midnight Liaisons. Every time she’s sexually attracted to a man, her dragon side breaks through. Not exactly man-bait! But she needs to lose her virginity before her twenty-fifth birthday, or she’ll become a dragon forever.

Her solution? Big, hunky Hugh, the appointed guardian of her chastity. He’s clearly hot for her, but he has powerful reasons to resist Ryder. Can temptation—and love—possibly find a way?

My Rating and Review

I thought Ryder was the perfect heroine. Despite the fact that she couldn’t touch men without consequences, she was smart, funny, and had a positive attitude and I liked her immediately. I thought her relationship with Hugh was perfect and I enjoyed this story! Highly Recommended!

Claws and Effect

Lily Faust’s world became a nightmare the day she was kidnapped by a vampire. Six months later, she’s been freed…by were-cougars. For Lily, this is the epitome of ‘frying pan to fire’ and for the Russell clan, it’s trouble in a terrified human package.

Ellis Russell wants nothing more than to soothe Lily’s fears and become her friend. But when tension – and passion – flares between them, Ellis has to decide: can he love a human if loving her means letting her go?

Or can he ever let her go?

My Rating and Review

Lily was a strong character who comes out of a horrible situation and starts to get to know Ellis, a shifter who is attracted to her and determined to keep her safe, even if it means disobeying his family. I enjoyed how Lily took her time to get to know Ellis and didn’t fall straight in love with him. This was a great read!!
