Favorite Reads

Although I write paranormal romance, it is still a fairly new genre for me as a reader.  I started with contemporary romance novels and expanded my reading forte from there, but paranormal romance had never been on my radar until I read Jessica Sims or Molly Harper a couple of years ago, and then I was hooked.  I started reading about vampires and shifters more than anything, but I have to say that one paranormal genre that interested me was dragons.  There are very few out there that I have really enjoyed, but a series of three books from Chloe Cole caught me by surprise.

Coercion is a three-part series that features a wolf shifter falling for a dragon shifter.  I loved it from the first page and I hope you do as well.

Happy Reading!!

Description

When Willa Stone is cast aside by the alpha-wolf she’s been promised to since birth, she’s humiliated and angry, but also secretly relieved. Now, maybe she’ll have the chance to mate for love. If her power-crazed parents will just give her a little time, she’s sure to find the man of her dreams…

Dragon-shifter, Drake Blackbourne, has an itch to scratch and precious few options for an outlet. When the Stone family offers up their daughter’s hand in exchange for protection and political favors, he agrees to wed her, sight unseen. Drastic times call for drastic measures and, so long as she does her part and keeps out of his way the rest of the time, surely he can manage to bed her, no matter how plain she might be.

What he doesn’t expect is that captivating, defiant Willa will ignite a fire in him that will burn everything in its path, and turn both of their worlds upside down…

My Rating and Review

I really enjoyed the beginning of the three part series. Willa wasn’t devastated by a broken match with another wolf, but when her parents sold her to a dragon-shifter to gain a political alliance, she felt betrayed by her parents. The more she fights with the idea of being sold, she starts to get to know Drake, and she can’t help but like him. He believes that they are married because of the deal he made with her parents, and he’s used to getting his own way. With another dragon-shifter after her, she has to decide whether she accepts Drake as her husband or not. A great short read!!

As Willa gets to know Drake, in this second installment, she comes up with a plan to have her old pack rescue her, but it backfires when she realizes she has feelings that are developing for Drake. When her old Alpha comes to get her, she knows she made a huge mistake.

When she’s sold into an arranged marriage with dragon-shifter Drake Blackbourne to gain political favor for her family, every part of her rails against the injustice of it all…until now. She’s fallen in love with her captor. But when a cruel twist of fate tears them apart, it will take everything she has to regain his trust and recapture the happiness she found in his arms.

My Rating and Review

In this third installment, Drake steals Willa back from her old Alpha, and believes that he’s been betrayed, that she was running away from him. He doubts the feelings that Willa is developing for him, and while he is readying himself for war with the packs, his heart is breaking. It is a satisfying ending to the trilogy, and I highly recommend the series!
