Featuring Kate Hill’s Fangs and Fists 2: Grit with Character Interview

Fangs and Fists 2: Grit

by Kate Hill

An erotic paranormal romance from Changeling Press.

Werewolf gladiator Grit faced his own mortality in the arena, only to be resurrected by a demon. Grit now lives a shadowy existence as one of the soulless, remembering only bits and pieces of his former life. Nonetheless, he recognizes evil and knows he must fight for the future of his young son, as well as the rest of the world.

Zari, a vampire warrior, helped Grit escape the tower where he had been imprisoned. She had feelings for Grit when they’d first met, but at the time he had been mated to another wolf. Now that he’s on his own, they’re free to explore their feelings as they fight side by side as part of the rebellion against the demons. In the midst of war, their love grows, but danger is everywhere.

Haylen, the demon who resurrected Grit, offers a bargain that may save or destroy the rebellion. Whatever the outcome, Zari and Grit intend to face it together and explore the once forbidden passion between them.

 Character Interview-Grit

What impression do you make on people when they first meet you?

I don’t think they know what to make of me, and I don’t blame them. Since becoming one of the soulless, I’m not sure what to make of myself.

How about after they’ve known you for a while?

I like to think they believe I’m sincere in my desire to overthrow the demon masters.

What is your profession?

At the moment I’m a warrior in the rebellion against the demon masters.

Tell me about your best friend.

Zari is my best friend. She has stood by me and believes in me even when I don’t believe in myself.

Describe your ideal mate.

For me, choosing a mate is about trust and loyalty. Zari is a woman of integrity, but she is also compassionate. If she would have me, I would choose her as my mate.

What’s the most important thing in your life?

My son, Jett, and ensuring that he will grow up free from the demon masters.

Your thoughts on love?

As one of the soulless, I’m not sure that I’m capable of love. I hope that I am because I want a chance to relate to my son, Zari, and other friends who have been supportive to me.

Your greatest extravagance?

Probably my desire for Zari. I’m still learning about myself and have few coherent memories about my past.

Is there anything you haven’t done that you want to do?

There are so many things I want to do and because I’m one of the soulless, I can’t be sure that I haven’t done them already. It’s confusing, I know.

Your quirky habits?

It would take too long for me to list them all.

What quality do you like most in a woman?

What trait do you most despise?

The desire to manipulate.

What are you most afraid of?

I’m most afraid that the demons will take my son again. I’m afraid that he’ll grow up in a world in which wolves are no longer free.

What do you value the most?

My ability to think on my own.

Favorite food?

I enjoy meat.

What would you consider your perfect night out?

Taking Zari to the wilderness on a starry night.

What was your first thought or impression when you met Zari?

I wish I could remember our first meeting clearly, but it was before my death in the arena. I remember how I felt about her, though. I respected her greatly.

What would you change about Zari?

I would change her duties in the rebellion because I worry about her safety, however I know what she does is necessary. We all must take risks if we hope to defeat the demon masters.

What do you like most about Zari?

Her courage, loyalty, and compassion.

What would you change about yourself?

I wish the demon who resurrected me would no longer have the power to enter my mind. I no longer fully belong to myself and that is something I want to change, though I doubt it will ever happen.
