My Favorite Book Quotes #MFRWauthor
For the #MFRWAuthor 52-Week Blog hop, this week, week 38, is my favorite book quotes.
I apologize for skipping last week. I was building my new site for my book cover designs and I am happy to say that it is up and running. You can check it out at http://www.valerieullmerdesigns.com. Okay, now I’m finished with the shameless self-promo.
I tend to remember funny lines in books. If it makes me laugh out loud, all the better. Below are some of the funniest lines from books that have stuck with me.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
“You mistake me, my dear. I have a high respect for your nerves. They are my old friends. I have heard you mention them with consideration these last twenty years at least.”
The Billionaire’s Boyfriend by Geoffrey Knight
This book is hilarious throughout, but the exchange below made me laugh aloud:
“Tilly’s right,” Mrs. Mulroney said. “For whatever reason, Cal’s previous relationships didn’t work. The champion race car driver, the award-winning French actor, the god-like Russian supermodel with abs you could hammer a horseshoe on–“
And this one:
“Sweet Jesus in an Uber. I totally forgot.”
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
While this isn’t considered a romance, really a mystery with romantic elements, this is the first book that made me laugh until I cried. And the first line says it all.
There are some men who enter a woman’s life an screw it up forever.
The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires by Molly Harper
You can’t go wrong with any of Molly Harper’s books, especially if you want a good laugh, but this book is one of her best.
How did an internal debate regarding flavored sexual aids become part of my workday?
I was a good person. I went to church on the “big days.” I was a college graduate. Nice, God-fearing people with bachelor’s degrees in botany should not end up standing in a pharmacy aisle at Walmart debating which variety of lube is best.
Wishing you a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!
